Transactions are the individual movements of money in and out of your accounts.

Recording transactions

Log income and expenses against an account, edit them as details firm up, and remove ones entered in error. If you've connected a bank, many transactions arrive automatically.

Reconciliation

Each transaction carries a reconciliation status so you can keep your records honest against the bank:

• Pending — recorded, not yet confirmed by the bank.
• Cleared — the bank has processed it.
• Reconciled — you've checked it against a statement and confirmed it.

Working transactions from pending to reconciled is how you make sure your FinanceByScott balances actually match reality.

Matching

Transactions can be matched to one another — useful for things like a transfer that appears in two accounts, or a synced transaction that lines up with one you'd already entered. FinanceByScott can suggest match candidates, and you confirm or unmatch them.
