Rather than entering everything by hand, you can link your banks so transactions and balances flow in automatically.

Linking a bank

FinanceByScott connects to banks through Plaid, a secure bank-linking service. You log in to your bank through Plaid's flow, and FinanceByScott receives the resulting transactions — it never sees your bank password.

Keeping connections healthy

A connection can occasionally need attention — for example, your bank may require you to re-authenticate. FinanceByScott flags a connection that needs login again, and you can re-link it to restore the sync.

Mapping accounts

When a bank connection brings in accounts, you map each one to the matching FinanceByScott account so synced transactions land in the right place. From there you sync to pull the latest activity.
